Is Krisp Free in 2026? No Free Plan, a 7-Day Trial, and the Free Routes Around It
This page used to review Krisp's free plan. That plan is gone: Krisp no longer has a free plan. New users get a 7-day free trial with all premium features and no credit card. After that, noise cancellation needs a paid plan — Core at $8 per user a month billed annually ($16 month to month), or Advanced at $15 ($30). Krisp's own terms are blunt about the end of the trial: unless you buy a plan first, "all access to Krisp will immediately cease". So Krisp moves off FreeHush's free list and stays here as what it is now: a good paid tool with a short free test.
Month to month costs double the annual rate on both plans. The free trial bills nothing for seven days, then ends.

Is the trial worth taking?
Yes, if you go in with a plan. Seven days is one working week, so make it count:
Pick your worst calls. Schedule the trial for a week that contains your noisiest recurring meetings — the café day, the open-plan day, the call where a colleague's dog joins in. A quiet week tells you nothing.
Test it against the free baseline. Run one call on your meeting app's built-in suppression and the next on Krisp, in the same room. If colleagues can't hear a difference, the built-in is your answer and the price is $0.
Decide before day seven. No card means nothing renews by surprise, but it also means access simply stops. Diary the decision for day six.
How to start the Krisp free trial
- Download Krisp for Windows or Mac from krisp.ai and install it — nowhere else.
- Create the account and start the 7-day trial; no card is asked for.
- In your meeting app's audio settings, select Krisp Microphone as the mic (and Krisp Speaker if you want incoming noise cleaned too).
- Turn off the meeting app's own suppression while you test, so you're hearing one filter, not two.
When paying for Krisp makes sense
Krisp earns its price in situations the free routes don't cover. Pay when any of these is true —
- Your week spans several call apps and you want one filter, one behaviour, everywhere.
- You need incoming noise cleaned, not just what you send.
- Your employer has locked the built-in suppression setting and you have no RTX card for NVIDIA Broadcast.

One corner of the old freebie survives, and it isn't Krisp's own app. Discord built Krisp into its voice settings, and Discord's support FAQ answers the cost question directly: "Krisp is free when you use it with Discord." It works in the desktop app, in Chrome and Firefox, and in Discord's Android and iOS apps (checked October 8, 2026). It only cleans your own side of a Discord call, and it does nothing in Zoom or Teams — but for voice chat and game nights, that's noise cancellation that's actually free.
The free routes to the same result
Before paying anyone: Zoom ships Auto, Low, Medium and High noise-suppression levels and uses them by default; Teams keeps a noise suppression switch under Settings → Devices that's on by default. With a GeForce RTX card, NVIDIA Broadcast covers every app, unmetered and free. Is Krisp free on a Windows PC or Mac?
Not past the trial. The Windows and Mac apps follow the same rule as everywhere else: 7 days free with no card, then Core or Advanced. Free noise cancellation on a PC comes from your meeting app's own filter, from Krisp inside Discord, or from NVIDIA Broadcast if the PC has an RTX card.
